Campgrounds Kakadu - stay and camp at Garnamarr Campgound on the way to Jim Jim Falls Gorge and Twin falls - 4wd unsealed road - off road access.

Perched on the edge of the Arnhem Land escarpment, Garnamarr camping area boasts breathtaking views. From here you’ll have easy access to the magnificent Jim Jim and Twin Falls - from the campsite, Jim Jim Falls is 10 km and Twin Falls is 18 km. The spectacular red-tailed black cockatoo is a common sight here and is responsible for the campsite’s name – Garnamarr is ‘red-tailed black cockatoo’ in the Kunwinjku language.

    Type of camping: Managed campsite
Connect with Country in Kakadu, and enjoy the landscape at the special times of dusk and dawn. Kakadu has campgrounds in all seven regions - choose from managed campgrounds with toilets, showers and picnic tables and fire pits, or get right back to nature at a bush campground which has very basic facilities such as pit toilets, barbecues and picnic tables. These bush campgrounds are unmanaged, and some have a small fee, while others are free. There’s no need to book ahead at our campgrounds as they operate on a first-come, first-served basis, and the onsite campground manager will collect your camping fees. Of course, there are also a number of commercial campgrounds in Kakadu. On those sites you’ll have access to the resort’s swimming pool, restaurants, shops and other facilities.
